India, this year August ,15th 2018 will be seventy-two years young.
For the Indian diaspora living overseas, in Queensland, Australia this is also an annual observance of great significance. Freeing itself from British occupation India began to write its ‘tryst with destiny’ as the Fouder Prime Minster described, on 15th of August in 1947.
The first Independence Day was celebrated in India on 15th of August in 1947.
FICQ committee, its past presidents and patrons and all member organisations take pleasure in bringing all of you greetings on this special day.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ON 72ND INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE DAY 2018
Beginning this year State after State, India will be banning its Plastic by all Means.
Last seventy years there has been tremendous progress in India.
This day usually the Prime Minister of India highlights the achievements of past year, important social issues and solutions, further development in the country, educational matters, alongside his tribute to the freedom fighter and leaders of the Indian independence movement that sacrificed their lives. A grand march past takes place by the Indian Armed Forces and paramilitary forces.
Take pride in being an Indian born Australian where ever you are.
Bring cheers, joy, mirth and sweets in the neighbourhoods in which you live , watch if you can, the festive march past and Delhi celebrations on the Indian Televisions or through social media and do say hello to our Indian student community that has come to study here. Regal, rejoice and celebrate.
Best wishes from
FICQ Committee 2018 and
Dr. Ram Mohan Ph.D
President – FICQ
